With just six days left of campaigning, Labor today committed to a housing affordability target in Newcastle.
15 per cent of floor space in new developments would be made available for affordable housing.
“Labor is committed to making sure we address inequality and a just city for people from all walks of life, only way is to address a basic need which is housing.”
The council would be able provide incentives to developers, including taller height limits.
