FROM POLE TO THIRD AS MECHANICAL PROBLEMS PLAGUE PARKES

The Hunter’s Broc Parkes remains in fourth in the World Supersport Series, after finishing third in the latest round in Italy.
Despite starting from pole, Parkes slipped back in the field on the opening lap.
The Australian hovered between fourth and fifth throughout the race, but as his competitors cracked under pressure, he held his nerve.
The result was his first podium in three months, with mechanical problems again being a major factor.
