FLOOD DAMAGE TO BE ASSESSED BY RTA

Greater Taree City Council is in the process of filing claims with the Roads and Traffic Authority to fix roads and infrastructure damaged in the June floods.
The area was declared a natural disaster zone, with a repair bill exceeding $20-million.
Roads, bridges, drainage and park equipment were among those extensively damaged.
Council has presented a claim to the RTA and a comprehensive assessment of the sites will be done before works can begin.
Funding to fix the damaged areas has come from state and federal disaster assistance schemes.
