FUNDING FOR BUS CRASH BLACKSPOT

Almost 22 years after the nation’s worst road crash, an announcement has been made that the Pacific Highway at Clybucca will be upgraded.

Additional funding from both the State and Federal Governments will see the 26-kilometre stretch between Fredrickton and Eungai converted to dual lanes.

35 people were killed when two buses collided at Clybucca in December 1989.

Tenders are also being called for the detailed design of a 14-kilometre stretch between Kundabung and Kempsey.
