The Hunter prawn season is officially underway and fishermen are reporting good catches.
The Hyde family pulled in more than 80 kilos in its first run along the Hunter River.
Fishermen are hopeful of a good season, with heavy rain during winter washing fresh water into the river.
The river prawns are known for the their big taste, despite their small size.
