NEW JOBS FOR DISPLACED WORKERS

Almost all of the 71-casual staff stood down from Wingham Beef Exports have found new jobs.
Three months ago the Japanese-owned company was forced to cut staff, blaming the high Aussie dollar and decreasing global demand for red meat for the decision.
With the help of a temporary project co-ordinator 36 people have now found employment elsewhere, while 15 were able to return to work at Wingham Beef.
Management say it hopes to re-employ the remaining eight people when opportunities become available.
