TINKLER SWEETENER FOR COAL LOADER

Mining magnate Nathan Tinkler has thrown up another sweetener for the community, as he forges ahead with plans for a coal loader on the former BHP site at Mayfield.
He says Hunter Ports will invest $20-million a year into a special fund for community projects if the loader is approved.
The fund would receive 20 cents per tonne of coal from the estimated 100-million tonnes Hunter Ports says would be exported from the facility annually.
It comes a day after Hunter Ports announced the loader proposal will take 90 per cent of coal train traffic away from Mayfield and Tighes Hill.
