Police numbers across the mid north coast are to receive a significant boost.
The Coffs Harbour station will be bolstered by 12 new officers starting Monday, while Grafton will be strengthened by eight graduates.
“The north coast area was particularly deficient and they’re going to be well over 180 extra police coming to the north coast region starting on Friday, 20 are coming to Coffs Clarence.”
Manning Great Lakes will welcome 20 additional officers, while the mid north coast command, which includes Port Macquarie, will know tomorrow how many recruits it’ll receive.
The boosted numbers, are in response to a recommendation in the Parsons Review, which found the area to be severely under resourced.
