GOROKAN HOME BADLY DAMAGED IN FIRE

Fire and HAZMAT crews were called in late yesterday afternoon after a house in Gorokan went up in flames.

Firefighters initially had trouble accessing the Mary Street property due to the presence of asbestos.

The site had to be decontaminated and rooms at the front of the house were severely damaged.

The blaze took an hour to bring under control.

It’s not being treated as suspicious.
