Two storm cells have sent a stream of hail
and heavy rain across Maitland, Newcastle and the Central Coast.
Trees and powerlines were brought down, roofs leaked, and workers and traffic were caught up in flash flooding.
It was also a busy afternoon for firefighters as the storm played havoc with automatic alarms, causing building evacuations.
