A woman aged in her late 50s has died following a horror head-on smash near Casino on the far north coast this afternoon.
Police say a Ford Falcon and Subaru Liberty collided just after three o’clock, leaving both drivers trapped.
A 50-year-old woman suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Lismore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The other female driver died on the way to hospital.
A young boy, believed to be her grandson, suffered minor injuries.
The police crash unit is investigating.
