BABY WHALE WASHES ASHORE IN FORSTER

A juvenile sperm whale was found at Forster’s main beach this afternoon, after being washed ashore by the wild weather.
A member of the public alerted the National Parks and Wildlife Service early this afternoon.
It believed the baby died before it made it to shore.
“Apparently these particular whales don’t separate very easily so it’s highly likely there was an issue with this animal – maybe it’s even been a stillborn, we’re not too sure.”
The carcass was taken to the National Parks and Wildlife centre, where it’ll undergo tests to determine the cause of death.
