TEEANGER FACES COURT AFTER ARMED ROBBERY AT EDGEWORTH


A teenager who threatened workers with a knife at an Edgeworth service station yesterday has been charged and is facing Children’s Court today.
A17-year-old produced the weapon demanding the two employees hand over cash.
He left without any money and sat on a nearby footpath, where he was arrested a short time later.
Meanwhile, a man has fled with cash after threatening staff at a bottle shop in Cooks Hill last night.
The man entered the Vintage Cellars in Darby Street at around 7:30pm.
Officers say he was unarmed.
Police are also investigating an attempted armed robbery at a Mayfield newsagency yesterday morning.
Just after the business had opened for the day, 2 males entered and demanded money from the employee.
The employee locked himself in the office and the offenders left without any money.
The males are described as being of slim build and both wearing hoodies.
