UATE NAMED NEWCASTLE SPORTSPERSON OF THE YEAR

Knights winger Aku Uate has been named Newcastle Sportsperson of the year.
The announcement was made last night at the The City of Newcastle Sports Awards.
A two-time Dally M Winger, State of Origin, Fijian and Australian representative winger Uate has played his entire NRL career with the Knights.
He was also was selected as a National All-Star in 2011 and made his State of Origin debut in the same year.

Newcastle Sports Achievement of the Year – Junior Male: Elliott Collins, Triathlon
Newcastle Sports Achievement of the Year – Junior Female: Isobel Cootes, Soccer
Newcastle Sports Achievement of the Year – Male: Akuila Uate, Rugby League
Newcastle Sports Achievement of the Year – Female: Philippa Anderson, Surfing
Newcastle Sportsperson of the Year – Akuila Uate
