HORSE CODE OF CONDUCT FIRST OF ITS KIND WORLDWIDE

New South Wales will be the first state to introduce a dedicated code of practice to reduce horse-related injuries and deaths.
The regulations are the result of tireless campaigning by a Newcastle family, whose daughter was killed after being thrown from a former racehorse in 2009.
“This code is actually tailored to look at just that group – the people who are going to get on a horse with very little experience like our daughter, she was a rider but very little experience…”
The restrictions will ensure each rider is paired with a horse that matches their own riding ability.
