MAN CHARGED WITH ALLEGEDLY SHOOTING TAMWORTH POLICE OFFICER FACES COURT

The family of slain policeman David Rixon were in Tamworth local court today, as the man charged with his murder appeared via audio visual link.

Michael Alan Jacobs showed little emotion as the matter was adjourned until the 1st of August.

Senior Constable Rixon’s wife and stepdaughter were in the public gallery as Jacobs’ co- accused also faced court.

James Strudwick’s conditional bail was extended, while Sharon Strudwick was refused bail.

The mother and son are both charged with being accessories after the fact.
