It’s been a historic weekend in Urunga, south of Coffs Harbour.
Locals and visitors now have unimpeded access to the beach, thanks to a new footbridge, which was has been officially opened, 70 years after its predecessor was removed.
The 400 metre structure is the final link in the one kilometre timber boardwalk, which links the Urunga township to the ocean.
Walkers and cyclists can now reach the beach without having to negotiate wetland, dunes and vegetation.
