CHARGE UPGRADED TO MURDER

A 36-year-old man is set to be charged with murder, after allegedly punching and stomping on another man at a Tweed Heads home earlier this month.
Police claim the attack took place in Dry Dock Road before the unconscious victim was driven to Tweed Heads Hospital.
The 42-year-old was transferred to Gold Coast Hospital with serious head injuries, but died early this morning.
“An assault took place an argument started very confrontational an assault between two men where one man unfortunately lost his life.”
The accused will face Lismore Court tomorrow, where the charges are expected to be upgraded to murder.
Meanwhile, a 34-year-old man, believed to be linked to an outlaw motorcycle gang, has undergone surgery after being shot in stomach on the Tweed yesterday.
He’s refusing to talk to police.
