Police have locked down a residential resort on the Gold Coast, amid reports a gunman is holed up in a unit.
Special emergency response officers surrounded the apartment complex on Paradise Island around midday, after police received calls a woman was being assaulted inside.
Late this afternoon, residents living nearby were allowed back into the area.
