A Cessnock couple have given a whole new meaning to the term runaway bride.
Daniel and Sally Drayton decided to tie the knot while competing in today’s 42-kilometre Hunter Valley Gardens marathon at Pokolbin.
Mr and Mrs Drayton completed the run in just under four and a half hours and the bride even got carried over the finish-line.
“Well our lives changed about five years ago when we got into running and we really wanted to get married doing something we love.”
The pair celebrated with a glass of champagne and they’re hoping the unique celebration will help their marriage go the distance.
