SHENHUA WATERMARK EDGE CLOSER TO APPROVAL

A planned open cut coal mine in the Liverpool Plains has moved forward today, after it was deemed “approvable” by the Planning Assessment Commission.
Shenhua Watermark has campaigned for seven years for the $1 billion site near Breeza, but have been met with stiff opposition from residents.
The Panel concluded that the mine would have no significant effect on agricultural land, but noted there needed to be more done to reduce its impact on water.
