WILLIAM COWPER DOWNS MCCARTHY IN FINAL

William Cowper has secured its first LBK Solicitors Rugby Union Cup after a convincing win over McCarthy Catholic College in the opens final.
Despite a heavy penalty count, the boys in red and blue proved too good – downing McCarthy 31 points to three.

“We trained twice a week, every week, and it’s good to see it’s finally paid off. Mr Conrad Starr has been working us really hard, and it’s good to see it finally pay off for us in the grand final and come out on top.” – Callum McIntosh, William Cowper captain.

William Cowper’s forward pack was dangerous with the ball.
Both McIntosh and Alex Hoskins starred in the win – while McCarthy’s George Rixon also delivered a stellar performance.

“Most of the year 12 boys, this will be our last game for McCarthy ever, so it was a very important game. But, the main thing all season all we’ve been trying to do is have fun, so I think we’ve done that anyway.” – George Rixon, McCarthy Catholic College.
