A suspicious package has been found at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus this afternoon.
Hazmat and fire crews arrived around two o’clock, and a small area of the administration building was evacuated.
“We isolated the package, put it in a container which was sealed, then we disinfected the area and rendered the area safe, ensured the people weren’t showing any signs of symptoms of anything untoward.”
Police have since taken delivery of the parcel.
It’ll be sent down to Sydney, to be opened by a forensic specialist team in a safe environment.
There was nothing to suggest it was an immediate threat.
