FFA TO INVESTIGATE FIERY CLASH BETWEEN JETS AND PHOENIX

Football Federation Australia will meet tomorrow to review footage of last night’s clash between Newcastle and Wellington, before deciding whether to impose fines and-or suspensions on players from both clubs.
There was tension from the opening whistle, but it was this incident involving the Jets’ Tiago Calvano and Manny Muscat from the Phoenix that sparked a bench-clearing brawl.
Muscat, Tiago and Ben Sigmund were all sent off, but they’re not the only players who could face sanctions.
The Jets coach hopes the FFA doesn’t overreact.
“Whatever the sending off is, in regards to one week or two weeks, I think that’d be sufficient.”
