DUNGOG MAYOR JOINS CALLS TO SELL TILLEGRA DAM LAND

The Mayor of Dungog has joined the calls of environmental groups for Hunter Water to get a move along with selling land it acquired for the controversial Tillegra Dam.
It comes after a former land holder revealed he’d been waiting more than 12 months for a price to buy back his property, with the offer expiring in December.
Hunter Water denied the delays are because it’s holding onto the land for a similar proposal to Tillegra.
“Hunter Water keeps popping up – we’re looking at this, we’re looking at that. I mean here we go with the Lower Hunter Water Plan which is not due to end of next year. It just goes on and on – Groundhog Day!” said Harold Johnston, Dungog Mayor.
