Woolgoolga Police Station north of Coffs Harbour was evacuated and shut down for around two hours late yesterday, following an incident involving volatile substances.
It’s believed a man taken in for questioning over another matter, was in possession of dangerous substances used for making drugs, when they began to react in his backpack, causing concern.
The Hazmat team were called in around 4:30 to contain the premises and make it safe to re-open the station.
