Bobin wildlife artist, Peter Schouten, launched his latest book at the Manning Regional Gallery today.
The acclaimed painter has spent the past two years producing the intricate illustrations for ‘Gliding Mammals of the World’.
During that time, Peter and author Stephen Jackson, also discovered a rare species of squirrel.
“It’s satisfying for me that we can bring new species, or even obscure species, to public awareness. In a lot of cases these animals are critically endangered, but in most cases noone knows what status they are.”
Some original paintings featured in the publication are on display at the gallery this weekend.
