A 28-year-old Tamworth man has been charged after police allegedly found child abuse material on his mobile phone.
Police were handed a phone after it had been found by a member of the public at a Tamworth Shopping Centre in September last year.
Detectives examined the phone and allegedly found more than 100 child abuse images.
On Wednesday, more than a year later, they arrested the owner of the phone.
When he was taken to Tamworth Police Station, detectives allegedly found another phone with more child abuse images on it.
He’s facing two charges and will face Tamworth Local Court on the 15th of October.
