16 YEAR OLD UNDERGOES SURGERY AFTER SKATEBOARD IN GRETA

A teenage girl is being treated for spinal injuries after being hit by a car while riding her skateboard in Greta today.
The 16-year-old girl wasn’t wearing a helmet, and was riding along Branxton Road when she was hit by a Toyota Camry travelling on Water Street.
She was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital and had surgery for suspected spinal injuries.
The 52-year-old female driver of the car was not injured but has been taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
Police believe the girl was listening to an mp3 at the time.
