The learning curve continues for Hunter speedway rider Sam Masters.
Competing for Poole against Lakeside in the Elite British League finals, Masters finished last in his three heats, at times struggling with the conditions.
But with fellow Aussies Darcy Ward and Chris Holder holding their own, the Pirates edged out the Hammers, to take a four point lead into the second leg of their semi final series.
