Greater Taree City Council hopes a new clubhouse at Old Bar will be completed by March next year – in time for the winter sport season.
It comes after a fire, which police believe was deliberately lit, tore through the clubhouse in March causing $100,000 in damage.
Council has been given the green light by the insurance company to proceed with the project.
Talks with the builder will begin next week.
