Two people have been taken to hospital after being overcome by fumes following a major gas leak in Tamworth’s CBD this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Grain Products Australia at around 1-o’clock, after two 10,000-litre liquid hydrogen chloride tanks sprung a leak.
Thirty people were evacuated from the building, while fire crews established a 200-metre exclusion zone around the site, which caused major traffic delays.
