A rude shock for a Mudgeeraba family after the sauna at the back of their house exploded just after midday.
Neighbours noticed smoke coming from the Wyangan Valley Way property and alerted the owners, who extinguished the flames before fire crews arrived.
Paramedics treated one of the occupants at the scene, no-one though was injured.
