Police at Grafton are expected to lay charges against five detainees of the Acmena Juvenile Justice Centre following an incident on Sunday,where five youths broke into a pool storeroom and refused to return to their cells.
It’s alleged the 16-year-olds threw pool chemicals at staff and caused an undisclosed amount of damage to property.
The incident ended after a four-hour stand-off between staff and the detainees.
No one was injured.
