Five people face numerous charges after a crime spree near Glen Innes yesterday afternoon, which left a man in a critical condition in John Hunter Hospital.
Police attempted to pull over a car which had been reported stolen, initiating a pursuit along the New England Highway which had to be called off.
A short time later, a passenger allegedly threw a rock through the window of a passing four-wheel-drive, knocking out the 29-year-old driver.
The occupants of the allegedly stolen car were arrested after it crashed into a police car.
