Newcastle residents were treated to a rare sight this morning, as two hot air balloons took flight over the city.
The father and son pilots set off from Foreshore Park just before sunrise, dazzling onlookers below.
It’s only the third time hot air balloons have flown over Newcastle Harbour.
Such flights need perfect weather conditions, and today it all came together.
Plans for another flight next year, are already in the pipeline.
