Newcastle Council is still undecided whether it will make entry free at the city’s five inland pools, with staff to brief councillors on the financial impact at a later date.
The vote was split at last night’s meeting.
Meanwhile, preparations are underway for Newcastle’s CityFest, a religious event, which is expected to attract 10-thousand people.
World renowned speaker Luis Palau says the two-day event, starting Saturday, will include bands such as Evermore, as well as extreme sports.
“When they finish the show they will tell the kids that are going to watch about their faith, and how to know god and enjoy god even while having fun in sports.”
