The $726-million upgrade of the Pacific Highway between Fredrickton and Eungai is on track to start mid next year, with the announcement Theiss and McMahon contractors will carry out the works.
The 26.5-kilometre stretch will eventually link up with the Kempsey bypass, which is under construction.
The project is due to be completed in 2016.
