Orica has pleaded guilty to leaking ammonium nitrate from its Kooragang Island plant on two separate occasions in November and December last year.
The plant was temporarily shut down after the leak, and has since guaranteed there will never be another leak of that kind at the plant.
Altogether Orica has pleaded guilty to nine charges, all of which carry a maximum penalty of $1,000,000.
