The North West has been lashed by wind and large hailstones, as a severe thunderstorm rolled through the region this afternoon.
There have been reports of 3.5cm hailstones hitting Tamworth, coupled with 98km/h winds, causing window and roof damage.
Similar conditions have been predicted for Grafton, Scone, Armidale, Tenterfield, Glenn Innes, Inverell, Casino, Tabulam, Maclean, Dorrigo and Glenreagh.
A severe weather warning is in place for the Northern Tablelands, parts of the Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Hunter, Central Tableands and North West Slopes and plains.
