Tweed Hospital is set to get a new patient lounge that’ll help free up beds in its emergency department.
The $350,000 area designated for those waiting on results, will contain both chairs and beds – and is the brainchild of local clinicians.
“It eases patient flow, so patients who’ve been treated in the Emergency Department who are ready to go home but are awaiting results can come into this lounge ”
The facility will open in May.
