Hunter-bred ironwoman Eliza Smith is hoping to maintain her place in the top 10, when she heads to Sydney for the final round of the Summer of Surf Series.
“I’m hoping for a top three finish this weekend, always a hard event, especially come the final. Everyone will be there and it’ll be an exciting weekend no matter what,” she said.
Earlier this week, the Gold Coast-based athlete took part in a trial of safety vests and helmets for the sport – and it wasn’t all smooth sailing.
Following the Summer of Surf, Smith will prepare for the state and national titles.
