JETS WOMEN CALL FOR BIGGER BETTER PREPARATION NEXT SEASON

The Jets women say their three-all draw with Melbourne proves they can mix it with the best, but they simply left their run too late in the 12-round W-League season.
“We learn from that and reflect on that for next year, have to come out stronger and fitter in the first couple of games and know you can’t drop points in the first couple of rounds.”
The captain believes a longer pre-season with more trials against quality opposition would be a good start.
Retaining their American imports is also vital.
“The local girls need them to come out and show them what professional football is about and having them train with us day in day out can only lift the standard.”
