MINISTER SURVEYS STORM DAMAGE

Emergency Services minister Michael Gallacher stopped by Tamworth to see how the city’s SES and Rural Fire Service personnel are coping after Sunday’s storm.
“Given the near cyclonic event that went through on the weekend, with winds of around about the 130-kilometres an hour just to see exactly what needs to be fixed up, and what action the government needs to take.” – Michael Gallacher
While much of the state’s focus is on the Coonabarabran bushfire crisis, Mr Gallacher says he’s mindful of how the weekend’s extreme weather event has affected the Namoi region.
The minister also used his visit to quash claims of him making a move to the Lower House.
