THE GOLD COAST’S SURF MUSEUM IN DANGER OF BEING HISTORY

The Gold Coast is well known for having one of the richest surfing cultures in the world yet its Surf Museum is in real danger of closing.
Currumbin’s ‘Surf World’ houses decades of the coast’s surfing history – but is struggling to attract enough visitors to keep the project afloat.
“We’re struggling financially and we just need the community to get behind us either to come here become members or send their friends here.”
The museum, run by volunteers and a non for profit group – is also seeking council support – especially ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
