I am type 1diabetic, and have been for 25 years. I was made aware if this scheme last year in April when my teeth were so bad they began falling out. I was lucky enough to have a plate made and paid for through this scheme after having 7 teeth pulled. It is due to my illness that my teeth are in a bad condition. I was outraged and extremely upset when I found out this scheme was ending. Considering I have more teeth that are still decaying and will fall out. I can not afford to be having a dentist appointment at least once a month, and surely can not afford to have new false teeth made as more fall out. I’m scared and embarrassed. There are a lot of people out there with illnesses that NEED this scheme. I think it’s bad enough that I pay so much for my medication that I HAVE to inject four times a day. I would like to know that in the future I will feel normal with teeth.
Great blog, thanks.
