Police have re-issued a reminder to the public not to touch toxic canisters, after a second canister washed up on a Forster Tuncurry beach yesterday.
A resident found the canister on One Mile Beach and placed it in a bin.
HAZMAT crews were called later in the day, but failed to find the canister, which is thought to contain a potentially lethal rat poison.
It comes only a day after a fisherman was hospitalised after breathing in fumes from a canister he found on Tuncurry Beach.
