HOOK BACK ON BIKE AFTER CRASH

Taree road racer Josh Hook has finished 18th fastest in the first qualifying session for the Supersport World Championship, despite uncertainty whether he would race at all.
The 20-year-old high-sided during practice this morning, all-but-destroying his bike.
“I’m a bit beaten up. I’ve got a sore elbow and hip and a bit beaten I suppose and the bike’s pretty much ruined.”
A team at Honda were able to build a spare bike in just two hours for the race.
Hook will compete in the superpole tomorrow, ahead of the main race on Sunday.
