A house in Shortland was partially damaged by fire this afternoon.
Neighbours called emergency crews when they noticed smoke coming out of the two bedroom house in Chapman Street at around 1pm.
The kitchen was destroyed, while the rest of the house sustained smoke damage.
No one was home at the time.
