Police are warning North Coast motorists to slow down, with operation tortoise underway for the Easter Long Weekend.
Extra patrols will be monitoring the Pacific highway, as well as back roads, with double demerit points now in place.
But it’s not just those who choose to speed that will be targeted.
“Alcohol impaired drivers, non-wearing of occupant restraints, driver fatigue as well as driver compliance and vehicle compliance as well” says Sergeant David Vendergriend.
Operation Tortoise wraps up at midnight on Monday.
